Names, names, names!
Names can either be fun, or a pain. Everybody has their own style when it comes to choosing names for characters. But it's always fun to talk about. So, here are my questions:
I usually pick them from a movie/song/book/TV shows/etc.
Julie's name is from the song "Hey Julie" by Fountains of Wayne.
Daryl's name is from an episode of Modern Family, where there was a character with his name (they spelled it Darrell, though).
Rena and Victor I found at behindthename.com
And Roza I stole from Jess.
Daryl and Victor's middle names, though, are names I stole from a [canon] ship in Queer as Folk (Brian and Justin).
I like to use common ones. Names don't mean something about a person in real life, so why shouldn't that apply to fiction?
Julie, Daryl, Victor, Rena, Roza, Derek, Jonathon, Vincent, and Kaylyn
They just have names that fit them. <.<
What's about you guys?

1. How do you choose a name? Do you go onto a website like babynames.com or behindthename.com, or do you just create them? Use Wikipedia? Mythology?

2. What kind of names do you like to use? Symbolic names? Mythological ones? Common ones? Make them up?

3. What are the character names in your most recent or major work?
Julie, Daryl, Victor, Rena, Roza, Derek, Jonathon, Vincent, and Kaylyn
4. Does your character's personality change the kind/sound/meaning of the name for your character? Meaning, does your evil character have a name that means or sounds like something to do with darkness, night, revenge, etc., or do you completely flip that around? Do all your intelligent characters have "smart" sounding names, all your big, "dumb" characters with simple, tough names, etc?
They just have names that fit them. <.<
